Coming to you from the great American Southwest, from our studios in suburban in Fort Worth, Texas. This is the Dirt Wasp Podcast. I'm your host, Todd Hulsey. Thanks for tuning in today. Hope everybody out there is doing fine. This is just a quick update. Um, it's been about a year and a half since the last new episode of the Dirt Wasp Podcast, and I just wanted to uh give an update to the audience. For those of you who uh do tune into the show, thank you very much. If this is the first time you've caught an episode, there's about a hundred episodes in the catalog going back uh about five and a half years. Please check it out and uh you'll find some things to tune into that you'll like. Um I'm not gonna be one of these whiny people, uh, but uh just want to let everybody know that 2025 was an extremely challenging year for myself and my family. And uh I was uh charged with taking care of um a uh family member and family members' affairs, and uh it was a very challenging, challenging year, and um that was the principal reason that kept me away because it took um pretty much all of my attention all year, and I'm still handling um business affairs of uh this particular relative um who passed on late last year. And then there was the cancer scare. So uh I had internal bleeding in an organ, and uh it was not my colon, because that's the first thing people are gonna think about, is internal bleeding. So I was scanned and scoped and poked and prodded and tested, and I didn't find anything. So uh I believe it was an injury I sustained while working out. So uh but of course they found something else which is not cancer, but it's gonna require more probing and more prodding. So now I can confidently say I know what it feels like to be kidnapped by space aliens. Anyway, uh in 2026, I do plan new content. I don't know how much I'll get up this calendar year. Uh I have a construction project that I'm working on right now, but I am going to put new content up. Also, this is not a political podcast. I'm not going to turn it into one. I I have no interest in politics. I used to be an elected official, by the way, if you didn't know that. And that experience completely turned me off of politics and all who are in it. Most of you just see the people who are elected. But there's a lot of people who work for them, who support them, are behind them. And uh I can tell you that uh uh it a lot those a lot of those people completely turn me off of it. I just have no interest in it, and this podcast won't become one of those. But we're gonna stick mostly with martial arts and military subjects, but also subjects that you know I find interesting and think other people will too. I'm also gonna talk uh more about um a little bit more about religion and religious faith and how it fits in. Um I've I've shied away from doing that because uh want everybody to to who wants to tune in to tune in and and get some you know good information out of the out of the show. But uh this whole experience this past year, um, and I I could I could talk about it for hours and hours and hours about uh all the challenges that were dealt with during this past year. Um But suffice to say that that it uh it reinvigorated my uh my religious faith. And uh so I'm I'm looking to have uh if I can get them on uh invitations pending, uh, which will be sent by mail in letter form to a couple of Catholic priests, one of whom is an exorcist, and a couple of Orthodox priests that uh I I follow online and uh listen to what they have to say. So you're gonna get more of that uh in addition to uh the military and martial arts stuff, which are those subjects are not mutually exclusive, by the way, which I think is uh in many ways how we've mischaracterized. Um people have mischaracterized, at least in their own minds, um, some aspects of Christianity. Um I'm gonna have if I can get these guys on. I mean, they're busy, uh they're very busy, uh, but there's some things I'd like to talk about uh with them. And uh, you know, we'll see if we can make that happen. I'd like to get an economist who's also a martial artist on to talk about both those subjects. And uh, like I said, anything that suits my fancy that I think other people would be interested in. And again, I just wanted a quick update for everybody out there uh where the show's been. Um again, because of the challenges of 2025, I just simply wasn't was not able to pay any attention to getting new content out there. And uh so 2026, I'll I'll have some new content. But again, if this is the first time you've tuned in, uh thank you. But we got about a hundred episodes uh that you can go through, including about 20 Focus on Valor series or short forms, little vignettes, and then there's I think there's three American crime series vignettes, and then uh, of course, the longer form podcast.
